Good morning, Lord. The house is still quiet and the coffee is not ready yet, and I want to give You these first few minutes before the day starts asking things of me. Thank You for waking me up. Thank You for mercies that are new this morning, even though yesterday did not go the way I hoped.
I give You this day: every appointment on the calendar, every errand, every conversation I am expecting and the ones I am not. Go ahead of me into each one. Where I will be tempted to rush, slow me down. Where I will be tempted to snap, give me a gentle answer.
Open my eyes to the people You put in my path today: the cashier, the neighbor, the friend who texts at the wrong moment. Let me see them the way You do. Give me enough strength for what is in front of me, and help me not borrow tomorrow's worries.
Whatever happens, remind me that Your faithfulness is great and that You are with me from now until tonight. I am Yours today. In Jesus' name, Amen.
“It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
