Father, there is a bill on the counter that I keep walking past. I have added up the numbers more than once and they still do not work. I feel embarrassed to even bring this to You, but You told me to bring You everything, so I am bringing You this.
You fed Elijah by the brook and kept a widow's oil from running out. You know what is in my checking account and what is due on Friday. I ask You to supply what I need: a fair paycheck, an extra shift, a solution I have not thought of, or the grace to ask for help without shame.
Give me wisdom with what I do have. Help me see where I can cut back, where I have been spending out of worry or tiredness, and what I can set aside, even a little. Keep me honest with every dollar I earn and spend.
Guard my heart from envy when I look at others, and from fear when I look at my own statement. Remind me that my worth is not measured by my balance. Let me be generous where I can, even now, because everything I have came from You. I trust You to meet my needs today. In Jesus' name, Amen.
“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:19 (KJV)
