Lord, I have a decision in front of me and I do not know what to do. I have made the list of pros and cons. I have asked for advice. I have lain awake turning it over, and I still cannot see clearly which way to go.
You tell me to trust You with all my heart and not to lean on my own understanding. That is hard for me, Father, because I like to have a plan. But my understanding has run out, so I am leaning on You. Show me the way, even if You only show me the next step.
Quiet the voices that pull at me: fear of making a mistake, worry about what others will think, my own wish to control the outcome. Help me hear Your voice above them. Give me wisdom through Your word, through wise people, and through the peace You place in my heart.
If a door is not from You, close it gently. If it is, give me the courage to walk through it. And whatever I choose, remind me that You can guide me and work for good even through my imperfect choices. I acknowledge You in this, Lord. Direct my path. In Jesus' name, Amen.
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV)
